Patent Monetization
What it is
Turning patents you already own into revenue.
Many patent portfolios hold assets that are being used by others without a license, or that would be worth more to someone else than to their current owner. Monetization is the work of finding those assets, understanding what they are worth, and choosing the route that realizes that value.
The paths to value
Licensing. Granting others the right to practice your patents in exchange for royalties or a lump-sum payment, while you keep ownership.
Sale. Transferring the patents outright to a buyer, sometimes as part of a portfolio.
Assertion. Enforcing patents against companies practicing them without permission, when negotiation alone will not produce a license.
What you get
A review of which patents in your portfolio are the strongest candidates, an assessment of who may be practicing them, and a recommendation on the path — or combination of paths — that fits your goals, budget, and appetite for risk. When you decide to proceed, we carry out the licensing, sale, or assertion work itself.
